Pet gear that doesn't look like pet gear

Walk into most homes with a cat and you can find the litter box in about four seconds. It is usually the least attractive object in the room, and it is usually in the room you spend the most time in.

That is not a cat problem. It is a design problem - and almost nobody has been treating it like one.

What we do

We look for the pieces of pet equipment that people are quietly embarrassed by, and we find versions that hold up as actual furniture. Not plastic with a paw print stamped on it. Not something that has to live in a spare room. Pieces you would put in a photograph of your home.

We are small and deliberately narrow. We would rather carry eight things we can stand behind than eight hundred we have never seen.

How we choose—and what we tell you

Everything we list has to clear the same bar: it has to solve a real daily annoyance, it has to look like something you would have bought anyway, and it has to ship from inside the United States so you are not waiting three weeks and paying customs on a piece of furniture.

We do not manufacture what we sell. We work with US warehouses and established furniture suppliers, which is how we can offer free fast shipping without inflating the price to cover it. If you ask us where something is made or who makes it, we will tell you.

Things we will not do

• Invent reviews or put words in customers' mouths
• Show you a countdown timer that resets when you reload the page
• Cross out a price we never charged
• Promise a delivery date we cannot hold
• Make a health claim about your pet that we cannot back up

Every one of those is normal in this category. None of them is going to happen here.

If something goes wrong

Furniture gets damaged in transit sometimes. Cats occasionally decide they hate a perfectly good thing. When either happens, email us - a person reads it, and we would rather fix it than argue about it. Our returns page spells out exactly what we cover.
